Another round of heavy snow, slide-offs and school closings in West Michigan with Byron Township sitting in the middle of it all.
Byron Center Public Schools, Byron Center Charter School and South Christian High School are among those closed for the day.
Most areas within a short distance of Byron Township have received at least 8 inches of snow with many recording closer to one foot of snow. Initial reports show the Wayland area among the hardest hit, while other areas are now catching up.
The latest Winter Weather Advisory is set to expire at 11:00 a.m. today.
The National Weather Service says this winter’s total snowfall in Grand Rapids has now exceeded 100 inches.
Snow from midnight to 7 AM is 8.0 inches at NWS Grand Rapids, which sets a daily record for March 10th. Storm total of 11 inches puts us over 100 inches for the season.
