Byron Township Break-Ins Investigated

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office reports three suspects broke into two vehicles yesterday in Byron Township. The break-ins happened at Planet Fitness on 68th St. between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

One vehicle at the Planet Fitness on Alpine Ave. in Alpine Township was also broken into during the same timeframe. All three vehicles had the rear passenger side windows smashed out.

Witnesses report that the suspects are three younger males who had hooded sweatshirts pulled around the face. They also wore surgical masks.

All three victims had left purses and other property in their vehicles while inside Planet Fitness. Credit cards, cash and wedding rings are among the items which were stolen and used to try to make purchases at local stores.

A laptop and other property were recovered along US-131 near 44th St. after appearing to have been thrown out of a vehicle.
