Byron Center High School brought home an award from the FIRST Robotics Competition Championships in Houston.
The annual four-day competition ended Saturday after bringing a record attendance of 50,000 people together. Attendees included more than 18,000 students from 59 countries making up 974 robotics teams.
Byron Center’s team, Team 2771 – Code Red Robotics the Stray Dogs, combines students from Kent Career Technical Center and Byron Center High School.
The team won the Creativity Award sponsored by Rockwell Automation in the Galileo Division. They won the same award at the Michigan State Championships.
